This past Saturday was a fun day, helped out at Sneaker Con, met some readers and saw some dope kicks. It was mad brick that day but that didn’t stop the sneakerheads from coming through, the event was damn packed. Rocked one of my fave sneakers to impress, Nike x Supreme Blazers, and no I’m not selling it. The highlight of the day was when a kid asked if I can sell him my laces lol, that was too funny. Afterward, the whole Sneaker Con crew + more headed to Outback Steakhouse for dinner…haven’t been there for a hot minute. Full recap on nitrolicious.com coming soon…

Met up with my friend Helen for a bit to catch up and say goodbye again, she’s moving to Barcelona to find inspiration for a couple of months lols. Also, got a special delivery from Nike Sportswear with a pair of dope women’s Air Max 1 Safari and duffel bag, super cute.

Last month I received a surprise email from SBTG about a pair of custom Dunk Lo he made for me, I jumped to joy since I’m a fan of his custom kicks. I was also happy that he was thinking of the ladies this time, we hardly get heat. The Sawtooth Poison Ivy is truly a work of art, very eye catching and detailed- FIYAH! There’s only a limited number of pairs available for purchase, stay tuned for more pictures and info forthcoming. The first Sneaker Con event was held yesterday at Times Square Arts Center in New York City, being that it’s a new sneaker buy/sell/trade and showcase event the press and turnout was incredible. Over 1,000 people came through, the line was never ending and the place was packed! Big guns like DJ Clark Kent, The Mayor, All Day and Stash were in attendance, NY Mag (stay tuned for the video) came through to do some interviews and sellers like Bridge Footwear and OSneaker were on hand to offer up older, rare, limited and unreleased sneakers for sale. The event was pretty chill, I had fun.

I’m not a collector or seller but I was there just chillin’ with my people, helping out and covering the event, it was crazy traffic throughout the day. Of course I needed to rock some exclusive joints, thank goodness for the Nike Sportswear x Nylon Magazine Dunks- got many requests for pictures and questions about them ish. They’re definitely FIYAH, I need the other colors too- they’ll be released in June! Outfit details below.

A surprise package arrived last week and guess what it was?! Yup, the much talked about Nylon Magazine x Nike Sportswear Dunk High in yellow!! I was getting a bit envious when I spotted a chick rockin’ the yellow pair after the Donna Karan show and then Mark “The Cobrasnake” showing off his green pair at the Erin Wasson x RVCA presentation but now I don’t have to be. The Dunks seems to be available in both women’s and men’s sizes (I got a women’s size), we can see now that not only are the nylon hightops emblazoned with Nylon’s logo on the tongue and outer side of the upper which is 3M, but also on the insole. At first I thought there were only two colorways, pink and green, then the yellow popped up- if this is a pattern with the Nylon logo perhaps there will be an orange and blue pair? Not quite sure about that as of yet, not much details were given as they’re trying to keep it top secret! The Dunks won’t be available until June 2009, they are hot hot hot! So I guess I’m a “cool girl” after all haha j/k, big thanks to D for the hotness!
