Finally went to Chanel Mobile Art last week (Nov 5th), despite the rain me, Minya and YM trekked up to Rumsey Playfield at Central Park to check out the exhibition. The exhibition was pretty amazing, too bad no pictures were allowed inside- I would of went all out. It was definitely a great experience walking through the pavillion, the exhibition houses 18 modern artists’ odes to the iconic Chanel 2.55 handbag.
My favorite was definitely entering a dark room with puddles on the streets which reflects a Parisian city landscape of course there was a Chanel boutique along with houses, etc. It was so real, complete with moving people, noises and street lamps which came on and off as the city awakes and sleeps. It was simply amazing!
Have you checked it out? If you haven’t unfortunately it ended yesterday, November 9, 2008.
More pics after the jump…
