In the elevator at the New Museum for the New Balance for Nine West Footwear Collection Preview
Last Tuesday, October 28, 2008 was a busy one, despite the heavy rain I trekked out to check out the launch event of the Nike Considered Design at 7 World Trade Center where Nike’s CEO Mark Parker, other senior level executives and designers were on hand for a special preview of the Considered Design. It was an eye opener to witness the unveiling of the latest Nike Considered collection and to learn more about Nike’s commitment to design innovation and the efforts to reduce waste, eliminate toxic substances and lessen our ecological footprint. Everyone is talking about going green, I’m so glad one of my favorite brands is taking the initiative to making the world a better place.
Then at night, I went to the New Museum for the first time (yes I know) to check out the New Balance for Nine West Footwear Collection (stay tuned for the feature on nitro:licious), surprisingly its super cute! Also, got to check out more from the Nine Spring 2009 Collection that I haven’t seen at the showroom (stay tuned for the preview on nitro:licious as well). In the meantime if you haven’t see the previous Spring 2009 collection previews, check here and here, its definitely an eyefull.
Afterward I headed to Chiyono (review to come) to meet up with Mimi (Swagger) and Mayu (spiff) for dinner, but when I got there Mayu told me that Mimi’s bf went to the emergency room (but he’s well now) so it was just the two of us. We had a good chat and she brought me two tees from her fall/winter ‘08 collection, the “Rest in Peace, Yves Saint Laurent” Tee and Sporty Tee- both are kawaii! Thanks for the tees and dinner!
